Save the date: Taste of Prescott, October, 20

posted Sep 25, 2017, 8:30 AM by Jennifer Lister   [ updated Sep 25, 2017, 8:30 AM ]

Prescott's Taste of Prescott Wolfpack committee is working hard on two events to support Prescott. Mark your calendar and don't miss these upcoming events ...

(1) The 3rd Annual "Taste of Prescott" is a family-friendly event that takes place on October 20th from 6-9 p.m. at the Chicago Art Department. Although we always hope to provide a free event to all Prescott families, there are still materials that need to be purchased to make it a successful (and free) event.

(2) The "Holiday Giggle" is a 21-and-over comedy show taking place Thursday December 7th at Joe's on Weed Street, where we will have the opportunity to raise money for Prescott with each ticket sold! Save the date and spread the word!

Please contact the Wolfpack committee members below with questions. Thank you!

Back-to-school day is September 5th

posted Aug 24, 2017, 1:03 PM by Jennifer Lister   [ updated Aug 24, 2017, 1:03 PM ]

On behalf of Prescott School and Prescott Parents, we are happy to welcome you back to school September 5th!  We are so excited to see everyone and can’t wait to hear the laughter and chatter filling the halls in a few weeks!

We are pleased to report that our administration, in collaboration with our LSC, staff, teachers and “power parents”, were successfully able to mitigate many curve balls thrown at us by CPS.  Our initial budget was significantly lacking in funds to accommodate our school needs, but we rallied, vocalized our frustration to the CPS executives and won our case as a team.      The comfort, safety and security that is provided to our students every day is a direct reflection of the hard work we all put forth.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now that Principal Roche has the funds to effectively run the school, it’s time that we focus on some discretionary monies that will keep us moving upwards!  You have likely seen various Donor’s Choose projects come through the Prescott School Chicago email.  These are funding requests for specific teachers.  We are not requesting that you donate to every project but rather, we’d like you to review the projects and select those projects that work for you as a family.  Our role is to pass along the information to spark discussion and action.

To further that message, we have a very important date approaching, Saturday, August 26th – Prescott’s Service Day.  This day is more important now than ever as there is still much to do inside the school to get ready for the kids.  WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO DONATE THEIR TIME ON SATURDAY FROM 8:30AM-12:00PM.  We can not stress enough how important your involvement is to ensure that the school is ready to open on Tuesday, Sept 5th.  We have attached the flyer here so you have the details.  Please consider spending some time this Saturday with us at Prescott!  Your help has never been needed more than right now.

Enjoy the last few days of summer!  We will see you soon!
